Halloween Practice & Games

Practice trick or treating with our ABA therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists in Merrionette Park on Monday, 10/29 from 4:00–5:15 PM or in Naperville on Wednesday, 10/22 from 5:15–6:15 PM. Sensory Sunday with the Joliet Slammers

a.c.e. therapies is excited to invite our community to a free, sensory-friendly baseball game this summer designed especially for individuals with Autism, Down Syndrome, sensory sensitivities, or other disabilities! Join us Sunday, August 3rd from 1:05-4:05 PM at the Joliet Slammers Stadium for a fun-filled afternoon as the Slammers take on the New Jersey Jackals. This inclusive event features sensory accommodations, a visual schedule and social story, and special opportunities for a.c.e. Sensory Stars to throw the first pitch and make a game announcement. After the game, attendees can run the bases and take a group photo with the team! Up to 5 free tickets are available per family — RSVP is required and space is limited. Caregiver Resource Night with AIM-CIL

a.c.e. therapies is hosting the AIM-CIL Achieving Independence and Mobility Center for Independent Living, which provides training, community development and advocacy to enable persons with disabilities to fully participate in family, social and community life. Join us in Downers Grove at our Adult Learning Center on July 30th to learn more about educational programs, day programs, and independent living services available to individuals ages 14+ with disabilities and their families. This educational event runs from 5:30–7:00 PM at the a.c.e. therapies Adult Learning Center (2600 Warrenville Rd, Suite 212, Downers Grove, IL) and includes an hour lecture with time for questions afterwards. Lemonade Stand

a.c.e. therapies is serving up sunshine for a great cause with our Lemonade Stand Fundraiser! Join us on Sunday, August 4, from 1:00–4:00 PM in the Merrionette Park Police Department parking lot (11750 S Kedzie Avenue) for a refreshing afternoon in support of our amazing learners. This cheerful pop-up event is a fun way to help our kids ace their goals while enjoying an ice-cold glass of lemonade. Bring friends, bring family, and swing by to support the mission of a.c.e. therapies—developing futures one sip at a time! No RSVP needed—just stop by and say hi!

Open House

a.c.e. therapies is celebrating summer with a.c.e. fest — a family-friendly carnival full of fun, games, and community for our Merrionette Park families on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 1:30–4:00 PM. This is event is only for our Merrionette Park families, as it is integrated into our daily itinerary. (this next sentence will be bold) Community members who are not part of the a.c.e. therapies family yet can come see what we’re all about during our Open House from 3:00–4:00 PM (the rest will not be bold). Adult Craft Club

a.c.e. therapies is thrilled to continue our Adaptive Craft Club — a monthly creative event for teens and adults with disabilities to connect, create, and unwind in a supportive, inclusive environment! Join us in Downers Grove this summer for hands-on sessions like Collage Creations on July 25 and Paint a Pot & Plant It on August 22. Each event is sensory-friendly and completely pressure-free, with a calming space available and the freedom to take breaks or leave early as needed. Led by a local OT/artist and supported by our behavior team, Craft Club is designed for connection and welcomes caregivers to participate too! Open to ages 14 & up, each session runs from 5:00–6:00 PM at the a.c.e. therapies Adult Learning Center (2600 Warrenville Rd, Suite 212, Downers Grove, IL). Music therapy event

a.c.e. therapies is excited to introduce our very first Music Therapy session — a joyful, sensory-friendly event designed especially for children with disabilities who love music! This event is open to both a.c.e. families and the wider community. Join us Saturday, July 26th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at our Naperville clinic (603 E Diehl Rd, Suite 123) for a hands-on session led by a licensed, board-certified music therapist from In-Tune Together. Open to children ages 4–10, this interactive hour will include singing, instrument play, and plenty of opportunities for fun in a welcoming environment built for all abilities. Space is limited to 10 participants and a parent or caregiver must attend alongside each child. The cost is $15 per participant. Fitness specialist in house at Downers Grove Adult Learning Center

a.c.e. therapies is thrilled to launch a brand-new inclusive fitness opportunity for teens and adults with disabilities at our Adult Learning Center! We’ve partnered with a personal trainer who brings a unique blend of experience as both a fitness professional and a former special education teacher, Viktor Rusenas. You can find him on social media @viktor_with_a_k_1. This fitness program is designed to meet individuals where they are and integrated into our daily programming. Fitness options for people with disabilities are often limited, and we’re proud to be part of the change by offering programming that promotes health and exercise in a fun, accessible way.

a.c.e. therapies is proud to have a presence at multiple notable community events, including: Giant Steps’ Day of Connections, Little Friends’ “Connecting Adults with Communities” lunch and learn, Gigi’s Playhouse Community Walk, the Special Needs Resource Fair in collaboration with the Mt. Greenwood Special and Recreation Association, and more. At these events, we are able to provide support and vital resources to our communities, while growing our a.c.e. therapies family.

Autism Speaks Summit, Expo, and Challenge.

We are so proud of a.c.e. CEO/founder, Cindy, who was able to participate on an expert panel to bring knowledge about the importance of transition services to a broader audience of professionals and peers. Our team also had an excellent turnout for the 5k! It was a weekend full of advocacy, connection, and real-time acceptance.
